Kezia, a 33-year-old professional, found herself at a crossroads at the beginning of 2024. After a hectic 2023, she realized that her fitness and well-being had taken a backseat to the demands of her busy life. She needed a reset, and that’s when she discovered UFIT’s Ignition Program.

When Kezia joined UFIT in February, her goals were clear but broad. She wanted to improve her general strength and fitness, make some changes to her body composition, and, most importantly, prepare for an upcoming hiking trip to Tasmania.
“I’ve always enjoyed hiking, and I had this big trip planned around Easter,” Kezia says. “I knew that I needed to get my body in the right shape to handle long hikes and carrying heavy loads, especially in unpredictable weather.”
Her trainer at UFIT recognized the importance of these goals and designed a personalized program to help Kezia achieve them. The first block of her training focused heavily on lower body strength, a critical component for any serious hiker. “We worked on squats, deadlifts, and single-sided strength exercises to really build up her legs and core,” her trainer explains. “We also incorporated exercises to improve her muscular endurance, which is essential for long hikes.”
What set the Ignition Program apart for Kezia was its structured, comprehensive approach. Unlike the random group classes she had attended in the past, this program was tailored to her specific needs and goals. “In the past, I’d go to group classes where the focus was on doing flashy things like muscle-ups, which are cool, but not really aligned with my goals,” Kezia reflects. “With the Ignition Program, the workouts were focused on what I wanted to achieve in life, not just on the workout itself.”
This focus on structure extended beyond just the workouts. Kezia also met regularly with a nutritionist, who helped her rethink her eating habits. “Before Ignition, my diet was pretty bad,” she admits. “I probably drank too much and didn’t pay enough attention to what I was eating. The program helped me plan my meals in the same way I planned my workouts, which made a huge difference.”
Kezia’s progress was monitored through regular weigh-ins and check-ins with her trainer and nutritionist. These sessions provided her with tangible proof of her progress and kept her motivated. “In just ten weeks, I saw significant improvements in my visceral fat levels and VO2 max,” Kezia says proudly. “These gains made a real difference during my hiking trip. Carrying heavy weight up and down in crazy weather conditions was tough, but every bit of strength I’d gained helped me get through it.”
Kezia’s transformation wasn’t just physical. The Ignition Program helped her develop a healthier lifestyle that she could maintain even with her demanding work schedule. “The biggest change for me was in my nutrition,” Kezia says. “I started planning my meals and being more mindful about what I was eating. This, combined with the structured workouts, helped me create a healthier lifestyle overall.”
Her trainer agrees, noting that Kezia’s success is a testament to the effectiveness of the Ignition Program. “Kezia is a perfect example of what can be achieved with this program,” he says. “The structure, the regular check-ins, the personalized approach—these are the things that helped her make such significant progress in a short amount of time.”
Kezia’s journey has also made her a valued member of the UFIT community. “She’s really integrated herself with the classes and the other members here at Club Street,” her trainer says. “We’re all really proud of what she’s achieved, and we’re excited to see what she’ll do next.”
Now that Kezia has completed the Ignition Program, she’s not slowing down. She’s just started a new block of personal training, with fresh goals and new targets in mind. “I’m really excited about what’s next,” she says. “I’ve achieved so much in such a short time, and I’m looking forward to pushing myself even further.”
Her trainer shares her enthusiasm. “I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into her next goals,” he says. “We’ve already achieved so much together, and I know there’s so much more she can accomplish.”
