Welcome to the MindFit Program

Are you experiencing  burnout or stress and struggling to prioritize your health and fitness as a result? Well, you’re not alone. Although there is increased awareness about mental health and wellbeing nowadays, there is often a lack of tangible shifts in people's perceptions, thoughts, and most importantly - behaviour. 

That’s why we created MindFit in collaboration with Sofia Wellness Clinic - a personal development programme made up of 4 sessions which are conducted in person in small groups of 5 to 8 people. 

In just 8 weeks, you’ll develop deeper self-awareness, learn to effectively control your behavior through internal control psychology, and achieve better consistency and motivation with your health and fitness goals.

You take a proactive approach to physical fitness through nutrition, exercise and rest. Consider mental fitness in the same way and adopt simple practices to help unlock your potential and discover new levels of performance.

Who is MindFit Program for?

  • Anyone who has been under stress for long periods of time, or has experienced burnout and is trying to get back on track with their health and fitness routines.
  • Anyone who tends to set very high, even unrealistic expectations of themselves.
  • Anyone who struggles to fully integrate health and fitness into their lifestyle or other commitments.
  • We all go through stages in life where we need to pause and reflect on what we really want and what path we want to be on - MindFit will provide you with the space, tools and resources to navigate this with confidence.
Mindfit workshop

COURSE OVERVIEW

Sessions will be held bi-weekly on Tuesday evening and will last 1.5 hours. The format is interactive learning, group discussions and hands-on application with a personalised MindFit plan integrated with your health and fitness goals led by a certified mental health professional.

1st October

7-8.30PM

Session 1: Knowledge & Activation

  • Learn - How you operate in life from a mental health perspective and how it guides your goal setting and goal attainment 
  • Apply - Introduction to Internal Control Psychology tools, strategies and application to a personal action plan.

15th October

Session 2: Deeper Self-Awareness & Understanding

  • Learn - the 4 components of human behaviour and how we have control over them.
  • Apply - your personal needs-strength profiling and how it relates to your goals and behaviour.

29th October

Session 3: Maintaining The Progress

  • Learn - cognitive, emotional and psychosomatic patterns and navigate the process of change. 
  • Apply - Measuring change and progress and applying strategies to maintain motivation, consistency and resolve internal “conflicts”.

Session 4: Celebrating Success & Expanding Application

  • Learn - the importance of acknowledging and celebrating your successes
  • Apply - Mapping and integrating future goals into your personal plan

About The Coach

Mariya is a senior counsellor and psychotherapist at Sofia Wellness Clinic. Originally from Bulgaria, she completed her higher education in the Netherlands and Singapore. Mariya has lived and worked in Singapore for 15 years and her areas of expertise are: adults and adolescents, couples and families (parenting). Specific focus: gifted and high ability individuals, low mood, anxiety, life transitions, relationships, parenting, self-improvement, career guidance, workshops, talks and  trainings in the field of mental health.

  • Choice Theory Reality Therapy/Lead Management Certified Practitioner

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How is this programme different from therapy/ group therapy?

Group therapy is a kind of psychotherapy often conducted in a clinical setting and it aims to address specific psychological challenges experienced by the participants. MindFit is a personal development programme, which aims to equip participants with knowledge, skills and strategies. It is not intended to replace therapy or go in-depth into any psychological challenges that may require professional help.

I would like to join but feel uncomfortable with the idea of sharing personal information in a group setting. The program is designed to allow participants to share as much or as little information about themselves and their experiences as they like. We will address each other on a first name basis only, for example. With each activity and session, there will be opportunities for discussions as well as self-reflection so each participant can decide what is most comfortable. Just like in any group activity, the coach will go through the necessary steps to ensure there are group agreements that everyone is happy with. There are great benefits in the collective experience and mutual support from group members for personal growth!
What if I need to miss a session? It is mandatory for you to attend all four sessions when you sign up for the program. However if for some reason you really have to miss a session, there will be an option for a one-off virtual 30 minute catch up session with the coach. Please take note that the programme is designed in such a way that each session builds on the content of the previous one.
Do I need to be a UFIT member to take the course? No, the program is open to everyone - UFIT members and non-UFIT members.
